Winter Cometh

The Mineral Point Market is such a treasure one might say that it can only be truly appreciated in the winter months.  Seems silly right?  But it is true, if you have taken the time to preserve and savor the items each week from market than you will be enjoying market all winter long, despite no market to attend on Saturday mornings.  And it is because you come out week after week to see our new products and enjoy in their splendor that we vendors come out week after week.
The Mineral Point Market would not be the same without you our customers.  It is your appreciation for fresh and delicious food that keeps this market going.  It is your appreciation for local, handcrafted art that keeps this market going.  And we vendors so appreciate you.  Going to market is not a chore for us, it is something we look forward to each week.  The camaraderie at this market astounds me and I love being caught up in it all.
Thank you so much for enjoying the 2013 season with us at the Mineral Point Market!  We look forward to seeing you once again in 2014!  Until then, there are several vendors who offer products year round.  Please feel free to check us out!

Happy Holidays!

Kathy Bures
Co-Manager
Mineral Point Market

Following is the list of vendors who we know have products available throughout the winter.

Bures Berry Patch
Thanks so much to all of our Market customers for coming out each week and supporting what we feel is the best small town Farmers' Market out there.  Though market may be over, the Patch remains open!  We are open daily from 10am-6pm.  While supplies last we have acorn, spaghetti, sweet dumpling, and butternut squash as well as pie pumpkins and frozen sweet corn.  In addition, we stay open all winter so that we can provide you with farm fresh eggs, honey, and pure maple syrup!  Our chickens are free ranging and nearly organic (we feed them regular feed). So come on out to the Patch!  To stay connected with us throughout the year check out our website, Like us on Facebook or signup for our e-newsletter to get the latest shovel on what’s happening in the Patch!  We hope to see you in the Patch soon!  Farmer Kathy and Farmer Ed 608-924-1404

Week 24 - October 12th

Hello MP Market Goers!

What a gorgeous week!  I sure hope you have been able to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather, one can only hope it will continue.
Just two markets left and I can't believe how quickly this season has gone, but it has been a nice one.  With the nice weather we have had bountiful harvests on many of our crops and some are still going!  I am surprised that we have not had a frost down in our valley yet.  That in and of itself has been wonderful because we did have a cool spring and not all of our pumpkins got going as quick as we would have liked and this weather has given them that last chance to finish things up.  In addition, the lack of frost also means that things like peppers, and tomatoes will still be at market this week!  Might be your last chance for a BLT!
This week is the market basket drawing!  Be sure to look for the sign up sheet next to Marr Valley View Farm for your chance to win a basket full of goodies from your favorite vendors at the Mineral Point Market!

Here is a partial list of items at this week's market:  apples, pears, eggs, radishes, beets, beef, pork, and chicken products, basil, carrots, kohlrabi, potatoes, watercolor creations, garden plants, honey, swiss chard, baked treats, kale, wildlife pictures and cards, leeks,  tomatoes, peppers, egg plant, garlic, lettuce (many kinds), pumpkins, squash, cabbage, onions, artisan breads, goat milk soap, and much more!  Come and check it all out!

We look forward to seeing you this Saturday morning at Water Tower Park, Business Hwy 151 at Madison Street, Mineral Point! 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.
