Hello MP Market Goers!

Wow, the last weekend of September is here!  That means...Cornish Fest is coming to Mineral Point!  There is lots going on in town this weekend be sure to check it all out at The Mineral Point Chamber of Commerce.
But before heading out to all these great events, do not forget to stop up to the market for fear you might suffer a lunchbox letdown.  Everyone has them, you know when you look into your refrigerator or pantry and nothing looks good so you settle for PB&J.  Or, worse yet you packed something in your lunch and then when it came time to eat it you realized that it was several days maybe even a week past deliciousness.  That folks is a lunchbox letdown.
However, if you come to the Mineral Point Market, deliciousness will be your lunch.
Also, it is rumored that frost may be coming.  And when frost comes ....tomatoes, peppers, raspberries, and many other wonderful produce vanish.  So be sure to stock up on these great items before they are gone so that you are able to have deliciousness year round and no lunchbox letdowns.

Here is a partial list of items at this week's market:  apples, pears, alpaca fleece and products, eggs, radishes, beets, beef, pork, and chicken products, basil, carrots, kohlrabi, potatoes, watercolor creations, garden plants, honey, maple syrup, swiss chard, kale, wildlife pictures and cards, edamame, leeks, raspberries, tomatoes, peppers, egg plant, garlic, lettuce (many kinds), pumpkins, squash, gourds, Indian corn, cabbage, onions, artisan breads, and much more!  Come and check it all out!

We look forward to seeing you this Saturday morning at Water Tower Park, Business Hwy 151 at Madison Street, Mineral Point! 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.

Week 21 - September 21st

Hello MP Market Goers!

Congrats goes to Steph Mohlmann winner of last week's market basket drawing!

Just FIVE markets left!  What can one say but STOCK UP ; the season is winding down.  It is so dreadful but soon we will have to start talking about the "W" word, yuck!  Be sure to do all you can now to preserve the memory of summer.

Fall is here and the season's colors continue to march their way to market and this weekend is no different.  They come in orange, blue, white, green, black, and yellow.  Can you guess what they are?  I for one can not wait to decorate for fall.  I just need to find the time to dump out all of my depressingly dead flowers.  Time to brighten things up a bit!  Won't you join me?

I also make Pot Holders, from bright cheerful cotton fabrics. The larger size is for bigger pans and the smaller ones work well for casserole dishes or for Coasters under your coffee cup. They are lined with a thermal batting for heat resistance. All are machine wash and dry. I've been sewing since childhood, I love color and texture, creating something useful and fun is important to me. I hope to see you at the Market in June!  Alice Raymer

Week 20 - September 14th

Hello MP Market Goers!

Just SIX markets left!  But with the abundance on our tables one would never know.  There is so much coming out of the fields right now it is amazing.  I am having difficulties finding time to get it all put up.  I finally finished my salsa this morning, whew!  I also made raspberry peach jam this past week (delicious).
But there is so much more you can do with the bounty at the Mineral Point Market.  I have a friend who makes kale chips, her kids devour them, pretty neat if you ask me!
But if you are like me and running out of time, many items from market can be frozen quick now and made into something special later.  Another friend of mine freezes her bell peppers without their tops then later pulls them out and stuffs them while they are still frozen!  Stuffed peppers, yummy!  So much deliciousness can be had at the Mineral Point Market, sometimes all it takes is just a little planning.
Oh, did I say planning?  Yes, I saw my first Christmas commercial the other day.  Ugh!  But if you like to get a head start on shopping why not shop the Mineral Point Market for some great gifts.  From delicious consumables to beautiful art you can find it all for that special someone.

Need ideas?  This is what we do, just ask us and we will be sure to help you find just what you are looking for.

Here is a partial list of items at this week's market:  pears, alpaca fleece and products, eggs, radishes, beets, beef, pork, and chicken products, basil, carrots, kohlrabi, potatoes, watercolor creations, garden plants, jams (lots of varieties), swiss chard, kale, wildlife pictures and cards, leeks, summer squash, zucchini, raspberries, tomatoes, peppers, egg plant, garlic, breakfast treats, lettuce (many kinds), cabbage, onions, beaded jewelry, artisan breads, and much more!  Come and check it all out!

We look forward to seeing you this Saturday morning at Water Tower Park, Business Hwy 151 at Madison Street, Mineral Point! 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.

Week 19 - September 7th

Hello MP Market Goers!

We are on week 19 of 25 already!  Oh my goodness!  The season is speeding away so quickly!  In my mind that means it is time to seriously think about stocking up and getting some of that fresh produce in the freezer.

I've got a whole list of things to get going on.  Yesterday I went and picked about 40 pounds of tomatoes and a bunch of peppers so that I can make salsa to get me through another year.  I have already put up corn and green beans, but if you haven't yet there is still time.  Also on the agenda for this weekend is raspberry peach jam, its a favorite at the Patch.

Need ideas?  This is what we do, just ask us and we will be sure to help you eat fresh year round!

If you are ready to start filling up your pantry and freezer with delicious locally grown products; give your friendly farmer a call so that they can bring extra for you to the market ensuring that all of our customers are able to enjoy the bounty of this harvest season.

What else is going on this weekend you ask?

Starlily Degisn
I am STARLILY  Design. I create Cuddly baby Quilties. Sewn from Flannel and backed with Fleece, I call them Quilties because they are smaller for babies and toddlers. They're colorful, soft and comforting. They are also wonderful lap blankets for older people because they're not heavy or unwieldy, they are bright, warm and cozy. Machine wash and dry, easy care.
